Depression is a ditch. You can pop your head out and say hi with a smile on your face, but you can’t show the rest. Or maybe you can. But you still have a hell of a time trying to climb out. Ditches can have flowers. They smell so pretty, and they look so uplifting.
Depression is like a sunflower. It smells great, it provides delicious seeds, it looks so pretty. But it’s still always half dying. That’s what depression feels like. Half dying. Just like a sunflower, I’ve been picked so many times.
